Desserts Poem by Doris Dzameshie

Desserts

Apple Crisps, with a grin so wry,
Smiled cheekily at the cheesecake nearby.
'You're soft and rich, but not quite spry,
Not as crispy as I, ' he implied.

Chocolate cake, with a gaze so cool,
Looked down at the cookie, that tiny fool.
'Your chips may charm, but I rule the school,
My cakey taste, a luscious pool.'

Strawberry Shortcake, sweet and petite,
Knew her 'short' made dieters' treat.
'A brief affair, but oh so sweet,
Who'd shun a cake that's short and neat? '

Ice Cream clanged, a symphony of fire,
Flaunting flavors to inspire desire.
Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry higher,
A frozen siren, each scoop a pyre.

Italian Ice, green with envy's hue,
Watched as fruits sang, a diligent crew.
'We serve all so diligently, it's true, '
Their anthem rang, under skies so blue.
