Desert Of Dreams Poem by Matthew Holloway

Desert Of Dreams

I wander a desert of dreams
dunes rise and fall like mountains
eclipsing the horizon ahead
and masking the journey travelled
a loss, a loss for all the world
the night is cold and shelter free
and still within the desert of dreams
I walk and fall between dunes
for no step taken is secure
and no journeys end is mapped
to wander aimless here
in a desert of dreams
this cursed place I swear
mirages taunt and torment
wind whisks high and sharp
and there is no end nor escape
this desert of dreams
this lonely place
