Dense Is The Forest That Grows
Written by: Wilfred Mellers, Tuesday, April 19,2011, @ 2: 01 PM
This is what I take issue with:
The trees are blocking a spectacular sea view.
One must understand what they are getting into,
The towering vegetation makes it impossible to see through.
The forest has become dense and overgrown,
Leaving no trails to follow,
Concealing its valuable treasures,
With jungles thicker than those found in the Congo.
A machete is needed to carve out a path,
Foot trails are necessary to guide us back,
I would certainly support deforestation,
As the forest is impenetrable and far too rough.
So many ferns, that it almost seems unreal.
Pampered lawns would be ideal.
To honor the king, one bows and kneels,
As the beauty of a tended field reveals.
It's so difficult to enjoy a hot meal,
With the wetlands', excessive thickness, blocking the feel.
To me, this has little appeal.
Finding the pot of gold is quite an ordeal.
A landing strip should lead to the subway,
Sculpted garden beds should lead the way,
Making it easy to enjoy the day,
While the DJ plays sweet reggae.
So tell me, what is it that you're about?
Is it that you're still too cold out?
You're still wearing winter's coat,
And your front lawn could use some care, I note.
Take off your fleece and stay awhile,
Show me that beautiful smile,
Unveil that stunning profile.
I promise, I'll make it worthwhile.
