Racism has always been a social stigma which everybody has to fight strong. The dark cloud will vanish one day....*****

Racism may not be so obvious in the modern world, but it's there all right. I thought that India would have little racism, though.

Not essentially racial but discrimination based on caste, religion or region still raises its head once in a while in my country.

Yes, truly said that no place is out of reach of this demon called 'racism'. 'Discriminating against people in any manner whatsoever is unacceptable' - I entirely agree to this, as commented by Red Soul.

Though the voices against racial discrimination are consolidating, and this is heartening, much more needs to be done to completely get rid of this slur on humanity. Thanks, Khairul Ahsan.

(cont) eally appreciate how you made sure to include everyone, irrespective of geographical locations, in this... The lines 'Thus far it's only the tip/ Dwells this demon in/ Deep dark dens' shouts truth as it has ever been shouted... A very important poem Mr Manga. Discriminating against people in any manner whatsoever is unacceptable. Thanks for sharing.

I am so pleased to have this valuable feedback on and a fine review of this poem. You have so nicely underlined the most humanitarian approach to this subject- Discriminating against people in any manner whatsoever is unacceptable. Thanks a lot, Dear Friend.

One the worst social evil the world has ever seen has been segregation of people based on skin colour. Here, in our country, too we often find people discriminating by skin colour. Your poem, strangely, reminded me of newspaper matrimonial ads - 'fair skinned brides needed' etc.

Yes, these are very commonplace instances and are generally glossed over by the readers or equally biased match-seekers. This kind of attitude has no place in a progressive, modern and equality-oriented or an egalitarian society worth its name. Let's hope things improve in the days to come. The colour of the skin should not be a qualification while evaluating merits of a person.

Racism in the USA is most often propagated by politicians eager for the votes of the less educated. Racism is indeed an evil demon who roams the world. Your words ring with truth. Thank you.

Thanks for your positive feedback, Chris. Racism is not limited to one country. It has made inroads everywhere. It may seem difficult but one day it is going to be defeated with firm resolve to uphold the dignity of human race.

In my country, racism had been used to keep the people divide and to keep the perpetrators in power. We were fortunate; we got rid of them two days ago. Thank you for highlighting this issue in your lovely poem

So true! Racism and religious bigotry together pause a real threat to the once secular India! We are getting choked by the strangulating grip of this ugly demon! It is horrifying to witness the brutish acts committed on a daily basis in India. Peace loving people of sense should unite together to rout the belligerent forces...! A timely and powerful exhortation! (10)

You have reviewed the the situation very minutely keeping it in the right perspective. We have also seen people practicing our own form of apartheid in India. This coupled with religious bigotry has created a vicious atmosphere. It would require a concerted effort from all quarters to stem the rot from our society. Thank you, Valsa ji, for joining the issue and raising the voice against these evils.

Rajnish ji, you have so rightly brought this subject up through this nice poem. God has given so much of intelligence to human beings, yet people continue to be so low minded. it is not in one country alone, but exists all over the world. It is a shame! Great thoughts from a wonderful poet.10+

Yes, Geeta ji, it is a shame on human race. Despite having been endowed with so much intelligence and wisdom, a large group of men and women tend to be racist. Thanks for a wonderful review and your kind words about the poem and this humble human being.

Thank you for bringing this evil act to our attention. Racists are totally ignorant people for we are all related as humans. Otherwise, we would not be human. Skin colour and ethnicity have deveoped from the time our ancestors left Africa. ++++10 Robert

The scourge of racism can be tackled and defeated by the collective resolve of those who believe in one human race and spread this awareness. That's it. Thanks, Robert, for being so supportive.
