Deficiency Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

Deficiency

By Freeyad Ibrahim

Hamdi found in Imam Bashir's Mosque, his shelter and shell
For this had got lots of myths to tell
It was known as the Mosque of the Imam of Heaven and Hell,
It was to some extent due to Hamdi's disability,
His emotions to supress and to quell
For this Imam always spoke of heaven and its pleasures,
Only to buy, but nothing else to sell
Stating the number of nymphs, girls and boys, and every soul had what it desired, as well
This promise perfectly suited Hamdi,
to retain good thoughts, bad thoughts to dispel
For he was deprived of the pleasures of this worldly life,
The Afterworld's Promise was for him
A rescue, a release out of his lonely cell
