Deciever Poem by Shaun Cronick

Deciever

Rating: 5.0

I strive to see the good in people,
A quality of character I hold so dear.
But in you a black heart beats,
Showing no emotion and never a tear.

So many lies and twisted truths,
Roll off your tongue bold as brass,
A whole gluttony of sheer deceit,
When the truth is all I ask.

It's said trust is a two-way street,
When friends honestly talk and grow old.
But with you that'll never happen,
For you're so calculating and ice-cold.

For my wounded heart is slow in healing,
If it ever truly heals again.
For you never carried a moral compass,
Just filled with slyness and disdain.

And now my clarity is rewarded,
Without you by my side.
To seek an honest loving woman,
In which the truth will never hide.

A brilliant and vivid depiction of deception. A person who never shows emotion is no human at all. One who possesses a.black heart could take you down to darkness The last stanza conveys a great decision full of hope and positivity. Beautifully written.
