Death Of Freedom Poem by RATIKANTA SAMAL

Death Of Freedom

Just a log of wood lying on earth
Silent viewer, disguised smile
No effect of romantic spring
Time to spend in bone-broken winter
And in the slippery rain;

Lost my pleasure of spring
When got into a government job
Lost my own entity and sweetness
I surrendered at the mighty ocean
And made my body salty;

Every wave of my mind controlled
Learning in young age
Education seems weak and unwanted
Have to hear them
Whether they are honest or not,
Have to satisfy them all.

No compromise, no excuse
No freedom, no right to speech
Just to float as a patch of cloud
To bring rain for their flowery living.

Wait for the tsunami
Build a sand dike at the estuary
And cut off relation with the sea
Dance, play and sing of my own will.
To taste a new fruit of freedom.
