Death Of A Lover Poem by alan brown

Death Of A Lover

The lady sung beside me
With a look of dismay in her eyes
Never wanting to deceive me
With her unkind lies
As she sat looking into he mirror
Though he clear blue eyes
A terror overcame me
As I watched her slow demise
Not thinking while I hurt her
With the strength of my twisted mind

Her scream dug deep within me
As she fell upon the floor
Knowing that I could never love her
Well, no not any more
She'd took all my sinful thoughts
And kept them deep within
As her breathing quietly faded
Bringing whiteness to her skin
Her clear blue eyes glazed over
As I withdrew my choking hands
And at that moment she was finely at peace
That I knew she'd understand.
