Death Himself Poem by Benjamin Chiu Uy

Death Himself

Death Himself

In vain are my reasons,
life's choices,
accumulation,
or discovery,

health's
or brain talents,

intentions, purpose,
or weaknesses,

honors, citations,
or savings,

treasure chests,
or empty wallets,

propagations
cultivation's,
or life's sacrifices,

riches or ascension,
from poverty,

life's conformity
or it's non conformity,

animosity.revenge,
triumphs,
or debased failures,

stormy weather,
sunny day's recovery,

repentance, prayers,
or annotations.

nothing's perfunctory,
perfect excellence,
or cowardly indifferent,

possibly as convincing,
as powerful,
as death himself,
