Death Poem by Ella Sutherland

Death

Death came to visit me in my dreams last night,
He told me to close my eyes and dream of eternal night.
He sang my hopes and all of my dreams,
And he stretched out his hand and took my self esteem.
Death whispered my desires and teased my mind,
Why don't we leave this all behind?
Come with me my dear,
Let's leave behind this world of fear.
And come join me in eternal rest,
For I only want for you, what is best.
I pondered and thought a lot,
And what if this is the end of my time slot?
The world will still clunk around and around,
Until only the silence is profound,
But my time here is not done, I replied,
The sadness for me will subside,
So please leave my dreams
And don't listen for my screams
Tomorrow I'm stronger
One more day won't make it longer

Well conceived and nicely embellished with poetic rhyme and rhythm. An insightful creation. Thanks for sharing Ella.
