A deeply poignant write. Great images that vividly depict emptiness and loneliness that tantamount to death.

You must have had a companion in your house for a while, but no longer. That's how I read the poem, which impresses me greatly. I too live alone in a house, but I have no one to miss. There has always been just myself. A poem which makes me reflect on companionship and loneliness.

But, your poem peeps into the empty silent house extraordinarily; that's why it describes the death house so beautifully. Well conceived, well crafted Thanks for sharing. Chandan

The silence is deafening in the large lonely gap left by those we love who have departed from our lives. A sad but lovely poem......10

Wonderful! ! It is hard to be left alone after years of marriage. My mother talked to my dad from one room to the other before she realized that he had departed. She was so used to talking to him, even though he was not in the same room at the time. Hard, Hard. Lynn W. Petty

A moving write on being left lonely with the departure of a loved one! The silence or the emptiness one feels then is so daunting!

The silence heard after a loss is deafeningly sad...but alas the echoes of love come a creepin' just when we thought alll was sleeping. A beautiful, exceptionally emotional poem. I choose to save it to my list of favorites. PEACE
