Dear Lord unto you I do pray
As I don't know who or what will cross my path today,
And I know that before this day is through
Once again, I will pray unto you.
I know that you are my fortress and my rock
To where I have placed my entire stock,
And I also know that you are always there
As I speak to you, in a prayer.
You are my shield and also my tower
You give me my spiritual strength and it's power,
Whenever I have ever set myself a goal
First unto you, I have always anchored my soul.
Teach me to stand strong and choose your path
Teach me to always stay away from sin and wrath,
And please Lord with any of my daily dealings
Help me to walk by your truth, and not by my feelings.
Help me embrace everything so that I can see
So, everyone can also see your love in me,
I want the opportunity for your love to be heard
I want to point out and tell everyone of you and your word.
Thank you for all the love that you do give
Thank you for giving me the reasons to live,
And I thank you for all the gifts and love
That you give unto me daily, from Heaven above.
Lord I also know that if in my endeavors I ever fall short
From me you would never abort,
While others have taken off to run away or to hide
I know that you, are always here at my side.
Every night Lord your whisper I always do hear
And every night it fills my soul with joyfulness and cheer,
I never go to bed with sadness or mourning
Because your mercies are awaiting me every single morning.
