Dear Friends Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Dear Friends

Living here is making me ill and unhappy
And desperate to find meaning in life
Oh you setters of agenda
Please add this to next week's timetable

When the curtain falls and we are left alone with our thoughts
We reflect on dear friends who are not with us at the moment
This circling routine which found us aligned
One or both of us is no longer part of

Dear friends who share the same interests
And opinions on the patterns of living
And who found the world obnoxious, unicorn-like
Don't let it poke a hole in your sense of knowing what you have

Oh you setters of agenda
Now I've bottomed out in this place
Oh you setters of agenda
Give me another chance to be grateful for what I have
