Dear Dad Poem by Jennifer Cook

Dear Dad

Dear dad,
I thank you for raising me
Thank you for all that you have done,
You are my hero,
My best friend,
You watched me take my first step,
You were there to catch me when I fell,
You are puzzle to my heart,
But now I see you slipping in and out,
It's hurts to know that death is near,
The reaper ready to take your soul,
We all know you are not gone,
You are strong,
You are loved,
Dad you have lived a full life,
Now you are hanging on by a thread,
I am sorry in your time of need all you have is me and my sister not rest of your children,
You have your son in law,
You have my children by your side,
Thank you for all that you have done,
Thank you for serving our country,
Thank you for being the greatest dad anyone can ever ask for,
Thank you for being the best grandfather to my children,
Thank you for always being proud of me,
Thank you for holding my hand after all these years even when we were miles apart,
You gave me my name,
I gave your name to your grandson,
Your love and memories will always live on,
Thank you dad for everything.
