Daya
In an empire where battles raged
And blood adorned the fields
Screams of delight mingled
With the cries of strife
On the banks of Daya
A heart innocent, distressed to the core
A world untouched by pains untold
Left the legacy once ignored.
Shed no tears, sought no solace
On feet unsteady, a life forsaken
Waggled to an early farewell.
A monster consumed by greed
Trod the den to fuel the dispersed dreams
While some cheered in eulogy of valour
Others bled beneath the weight of grief.
Wants infinite, cries echo in the void
Standing on the sand, slippery
The worn and aged prudence
Count their beads
To meet their fate.
Once a kingdom of promises many
Oblivious of the hand that slew their creed
Innocence wept over the inflated pride
Mourning the lost smile,
fun, and accord
Built over the bones
of some vanquished foes.
