Day Breaks Poem by Unnikrishnan Sivasankara Menon

Day Breaks

Rating: 5.0

Day breaks on the beach Marina
Sun saunters over the uneven sand
Barking of the nightly dogs ceased
The girl next door complains
In her tamilian loudness
Against someone
To someone, vociferous
Proud of her noisiness and foul language.

The previous night's linen
Washed in the open
In the twilight of unborn dawn.

Wow so very thoughtful poem. I long to be at Marina beach, it is long since I went bare feet holding my scandals in hand to Marina beach. Excellent poem.

You are welcome, Dr Nehal. We live in Chennai for the time being. And sure, Marine is so enticing.
