Dawn As I Dreamt Last Night Poem by Pranab K Chakraborty

Dawn As I Dreamt Last Night

lamposts stand to glorify darkness
highway runs blunt to condemn destination
and fields both sides sharing the song of wind
as was the canvas when I passed the war field
between this and that

they told not to move
they told to destroy own skeleton
stars yet abandoned all the meticulous liason
glimpsed so loud
brighter my face at last brushed with solitude
stood alone where I was told not to stand

before starting to show their maniac firing skill
a duplicate me appeared somewhere from unseen
kicked their back to hold a free hand for mutiny
and thus I proclaimed ny winning singularity
simply by cheating their guns

what could be my next action
could you imagine my God
surpresed I when they took their last pray
to minimize my whereabouts from the earth's rack
just below a squrrel only signalled
it was dawn and I should be proud of kicking capability
when time recalls the charm to vandalize enemy camp

grateful to lamposts which bent and broken
not to be allowed to doctrinise the essential paradigm
