When North winds blow ice cold and snow, the way they're sure to do......... most birds around are Southward bound. I should be going too. But there's no way. It's here I'll stay. For me it's nothing new. My firewood supply is good, to last the Winter through. When Winter's gone, though it was long, eyes glued to skies of blue. We'll watch and wait, anticipate.......... till birds come into view. And when they do the miles they flew no longer mean a thing. What means the most is Winter's ghost has fimally turned to Spring.

Truly a delightful moment for us. I recently read about how some birds migrate thousands of miles. You wouldn't think they would have anything to sing about. We certainly have something to be grateful for when we can enjoy their music.

This poem is a treasure Sandra. And it is the treasure of nature that can make our ordinary day more special, but it can also override despair. 10 love Karin

Really; what would seem as special about dawn without the birds, as a matter of fact..Thank you for making me think! Had never considered this before..(smile)

Sandra, what a beautiful way to welcome dawn with chirping birds. I love both the dawn and bird and this beautiful poem has incorporated both. Top marks and thanks for sharing it with us my friend. Hugs David
