Darkness Seeking Light Poem by Skylark Woodrow

Darkness Seeking Light

Rating: 5.0

I think I've tried to stay strong for too long,
I think I've tried to fight too hard,
I think I've bent too far; now I'm broke.
I find myself without the strength to keep moving on.
I'm exhausted,
Drained,
Burnt out,
Unable to keep up the facade that I have been hiding behind for so long.
I'm broken,
Shattered,
Reduced to fragments;
There is nothing left of me.
Where can I go from here?
What hope is there for one such as I?
Tell me,
Tell me anything that will rekindle the light within my eyes.
Tell me anything that will breathe life back into my lungs.
Tell me anything that will instill hope, joy, peace, and love.
Give me a reason to live;
Relay to me the purpose of this life.
Free me from this darkness that encompasses me;
Guide me through the twists and turns of life to the light on the other side.
