And so in black of night
He faces down his fate
Darkest hour alright
Close to it at any rate
He struggles to survive
On skid row and city beat
In fear he comes alive
Sirens echo ghetto street
What will tomorrow bring
The future an unknown
To past no longer cling
Through tempest he has grown
Alone amongst the rats
The homeless and deranged
Red light, hookers and tatts
Change country but nothings changed
With sunrise comes hope
A new day to make it right
Surmount death's slippery slope
Love is in the light
