Dark Sky Poem by Gladden Scribbles

Dark Sky

The dark was the view they craved to see,
And the stars and the moon that deigns upon sea
The dark is that void that turns eyes to sleep
And the mantle that hides all that creeps
The silence in the gloom grows all on the soil
And makes workers rest from their toil
The dark is that joy that makes owls hoot
And the ominous hour where hides the coot
The dark is that moment when nightly beings reigns
And the fretful hour when men turns men's bane
The dark is that moment when silence condescends the land
And the starry minutes when daylight disband
The dark is that future that rest by the day,
And the past that lurks at the light of the day.
