Dreams resemble rusted abandoned ships
Swept far away out to sea, in forgotten rips
Looking to seek out that heavenly harbour
To chance faith, anchored within the arbour.
Many souls have paced these lonely decks
Left them bare and raw, somewhat complex
But no one ever dare returned there to amend
The damage that was done there, a dead end.
There you will see, deep within the black of night
Pools and shafts of the palest of any moonlight
Dreams that have awoken into a common sight
Gently twisting and turning the wrongs into right.
Dreaming of being lost in some solemnly place
A rare smile, hidden within a glance upon a face
Things that were once lost come back into play
Within empty shadows of dreams, at end of day.
Losing all hope of worries drifting far into there
Dreaming of some long lost lover’s kindly care
Lasting memories that faded in from far away
Haunting my daily visions of many a yesterday.
Walking with all my empty dreams in my hand
Over stretching empty fields through the sand
Dreaming of words that were once never said
In forgotten language, never used, never dead.
But as I go, I ask and prey you not to pity me
Let me and my dreams in my unsleeping be
Wake me not until the true dead of the night
For to me, when I wake, reality is the fright….
So dare not dismiss the sadly lonely dreamer
With his head in clouds, a lost silent screamer
For all that he really is, but a silly bumbling fool
An impractical simpleton, awry without any rule.
Kept at a distance from the intelligent crowd
With a raw tenacity, but yet so blindly proud
To hear a hidden thought in his twisted mind
A listener requires a capacity, gentle and kind.
To cope with words that dare dangle and dance
Thrown around, all lost within a writhing trance
Disbelieving any sense of this un-mortal scream
 Dare not dismiss the dreamer;
as he cannot dismiss the dream….
