Dark Age Poem by Richard Jarboe

Dark Age

Living in a dark age,
Reading a dark page,
Blind as a bat, don't know my sex,
Arguing 'bout what's coming next,
Living in a dark age.

Living in a dark age,
Dodging the plague,
Watching the homeless,
Hearing 'em beg,
In a dark age.

Living in a dark age,
The rich want to fly to Mars,
Magnetized by batteries,
Cooking in their cars,
In a dark age.

Word leaders rolling the dice,
Their delusions will not suffice,
God forgive them,
They know not what they do,
Doomed to never know what's true,
In a dark age.
