Damned Soul Poem by Ashleigh Wiggins

Damned Soul

Rating: 5.0

Glowing globes of golden light,
Shimmering in rows of filed actions.
Slowly, they age,
Until dim orbs replace,
A lifetime.

As spheres become forsaken tears,
Memories lost to misted grasps,
Only returning as shaded rose.

Petals wilting,
Galaxies twined to stardust.

Threads of self,
Lost labyrinth of worth.

Questions roar, as answers cower.
What lies beneath, those jaded ties.
A euphonious tone tells a tale,
Along those wretched truths.

I heed redolent words,
Ripped from shattered moons.
Sallow skin sheaths this soul;
Barred from honeyed milks,
Enveloped in leaded silks.

The tears of ice, dressed in gaiety,
A whisper, a lure, to Hade's depths.
Asinine prayers reach Zeus' ears,
Merciless to mortal plight.

A lifetime of yearning for boundless skies,
Dragged to realms of umbra haze,
Hellfire cannot blaze.

Fantasies of waxen wings,
Turned ephialtes of murk.

Immured to the loss of self,
Of thrills, of wills, of chills.

Damned to immortality, eternity,
A realm without sentience.

Orbs of gold exchanged,
Hallowed soul remains.
