Dalit house,
I saw it from far,
Dalit house,
Small, congested muddy shed,
Mud-built and straw-thatched,
Muddy-floored
And with goats and ducks
At some corner
The poor men living,
Passing their days
In anonymity
Without anything to drink, eat
And keep,
Without books, light and so on
Living in abject poverty,
Below the poverty line,
In the lack or resources and scarcity.
