Curtains Poem by jamal wooden

Curtains

Behind the curtain, there's another life
With a short reach, but a lasting impact
Colored with the hues of society's strife
Written by hands that are not entirely innocent

It whispers to us, a tale of love and strife
Music and dance, a dramatic life
Filled with smiles and laughter, it chases our fears
And brings us comfort in times of tears

Behind the curtain, there's another world
Of kings and rulers, where history unfurls
Their stories woven by the imagination's thread
A fabric that's rich and vibrant, as they're told

Behind the curtain, there's another love
A love that's pure and true, sent from above
It's a passion that burns like a fire so bright
And fills our hearts with hope, and banishes our night

Behind the curtain, there's another culture
A tapestry of art, politics, and poetry in motion
A world that's crafted with imagination's skill
And weaves a story that's both beautiful and real

But behind the curtain, there's also pain
A reality that we can't ignore or sustain
It's a world that's harsh and unforgiving too
Where we're forced to confront the truth we've never knew

So let us look beyond the curtain's veil
And see the world for what it truly is, without fail
For behind the curtain, there's another story to be told
A story that's complex, and rich, and bold
