You fly a bit too wild

Be the artist of your words. What a splendid line. And the bonus........... And the last powerful verse At peace in rest or in full fury- that is the key. Great image. I will no longer look at a kite in the same fashion. I only wish I could master of the currents of my mind. Well I don't really I just observe the crazy thoughts and know that is not who I am. I am the Living Flow from which all thoughts come and go.

I used the kite metaphor because of it's wild nature. Wondering if society too is beyond control and then to think too that we human are at its mercy like the tail madly following. But then to realize that you need not surrender to the whims and that with personal awareness we may not only steady ourselves but turn the ride to our advantage and master the currents.

Hey, Edmund! As I read this I was iffy about the kite metaphor till the last two lines then bam! A stong finish. Those two could stand alone with the title. And, for me, are stronger than Emerson's Hitch you wagon to a star. -Glen

Hi Edmund, Lovely poem. Your words, : : Don't let your tongue own you Be the artist of your words: : This advice is quite relevant and pertinent. It is said that, it is not the teeth that protect the tongue inside, but it is tongue that has to protect the teeth from being felled. (saying in my mother tongue, Malayalam) . Beautiful write. A 100+
