Cuppa! Poem by Lodigiana Poetess

Cuppa!

Rating: 5.0

I come from England, so you see
I really love my cup of tea.
No matter what disasters fall
if worlds collide,
above it all
will be the pot…
still warm and brewing,
makes us forget
we're facing ruin.
The Cup that warms
is what they say,
We like it warmed
10 times a day.
The world banks crash.
Disease is rife,
and unemployment causes
strife,
and if the worst should happen then,
we'll just brew up
and start again.

Lodigiana, loved it! It's what fun poems are all about and so true of not just English but British mentality when a crisis occurs. A nuclear war, a zombie holocaust don't worry luvvie, I'll just put the kettle on for a cup of rosy lea and won't forget to warm the pot. And don't worry about those things for it could be worse. A poem to make people laugh, if not at least smile and momentarily forget life's problems. Many thanks and five stars and I wish you well. Shaun.x.
