Every day I wake to the cacophony
Of a murder of crows cawing on tree tops
They take to the skies in one and two,
As the sun emerges from behind the hills

The noisy crows are the sweepers of the nature, no doubt in it, they are our friends. A nice write.
Such lovely kind words for the crow if they can read their hearts will glow Thanks Valsa-10
Reminded me of the famous short Malayalam poem kooriruttinte kidaathiyennaal, sooryaprakashaththinutta thozhi.. (Vyloppilli?) . Great write. Full marks.
Great poem on these noisy birds. They really do over take the sky so often.
So true.. Yes, they r v noisy but v intelligent too.. Once u gv them somethg to eat, d nxt day u can find them cawing at ur window askg for more.. HahA.. Njoid readg
Another amazing write from your pen. Your sharp observation and intelligent use of language never fails to impress the reader. To equate crows with noisy friends is a very novel n innovative idea. Another poem to learn a lot from. Thanks Valsa.
A very interesting poem, Valsa! Yes, they make a lot of noise - a cacophony, indeed! The most common among birds and perhaps, most irritating too. For many in Kerala, specially the Hindus, crows are considered as the carrier of departed souls. They wait with rice balls to feed the crows. A very beautiful picture of the crows. I loved it.
These ubiquitous birds of all seasons Are the unpaid scavengers of the Earth! ..............as i was the teen-aged scavenger of leftover food at the end of holiday meals at the home of my aunt and uncle! i was known (affectionately) as the 'garbage can', or something like that! nice one, Valsa, my good friend. bri ;)
Noisy friends - nicely said. They perform their duty well. Natural habits of crows are beautifully described in your poem.
The poet's keen observation of nature is well reflected in the poem.Nice metaphors in the poem make it unique. The poet's gratitude and love for the bird is nicely expressed in the closing lines. It is a poem to read.10 (Crows were seen in large numbers in Manipur during my childhood yet as the climate changed they dissappeared long back)
There are quite a few that live in the large pine trees at the church where I live. They are indeed very loud, but useful and intelligent
Love it! ! ! ! You captured their obnoxiousness while at the same time their whimsical nature- -hopping around looking for shiny things as well as scraps of food. Loved your word choices! ! ! ! - - - ubiquitous birds- - emissaries of light! - - wake to the cacophony! 10! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! 1
