Crossroads In Life Poem by June FeirCruz

Crossroads In Life

Rating: 4.5

There comes a time when decisions have to be made
Decisions that will affect the rest of our lives
There comes a time when we have to take a long hard look at ourselves
And ask ourselves 'what now'.

We have been hurling hurtful words to each other, accusations that have no end
Though I mean what I have said, hurting you was not my intent
Circumstances have forced me to be honest in the most brutal way
Only so that neither of us would go astray.

You told me in so many ways that you doubt and distrust me
For my agenda you are not sure of
If wishing for someone kind and good to spend my remaining days is an agenda
Then, clearly we are not on the same page.

I may have flaws that are hidden in plain sight
A passion that you have unleashed
They should not be a deterrent
But reassurance that I truly feel for you.

If after everything that I go through for you
All the angst, the pain, the joys, my fears, my hopes and my dreams
are not enough
Then, go on your way and forget about us.

Beautifully and sensitively written. The line length makes the reader slow down and take in the words. I feel almost as though I should not be intruding into private pain - and yet you invite me to, as though by sharing, it can be somehow diminished. Thank you for this June.

Interesting, having to make the change, because of what the other person in your life was doing. Thank you, please feel free to read and comment on my works. Rabbit
