Cries Of A Silent Heart Poem by Santanu Banerjee

Cries Of A Silent Heart

In shadows deep, a father's heart is torn,
A husk of hope, in hollow night, forlorn.
He wanders pathways paved with piercing pain,
Each step a whisper, echoing disdain.

Two daughters dance in dreams, their laughter light,
Yet, he is lost, beneath a shroud of night.
The elder, seven springs have bloomed in her eyes,
While the youngest, tender, barely learned to rise.

He kneels beneath the weight of stones unyielding,
A crushing burden, bitter, never fleeting.
With every heartbeat, grief's relentless tide,
Washes away the joy that once was wide.

The walls around him close, a cage of sorrow,
Each dawn breaks bleak, without a bright tomorrow.
Where once were glimmers, now shadows loom large,
As life's cruel currents hold him as their charge.

Oh, to embrace their laughter, sweet refrain,
Yet solitude, a specter, brings him pain.
His longing breathes, a fog that fills the air,
A melody of memories, deep despair.

Yet through the fog, a flicker, faint and rare,
A hope that one day love will lay him bare.
A reunion's dream, the ache of arms embraced,
To hold his daughters close, in time, in space.

So, with the dawn, he clings to distant stars,
Each wish a whisper, transcending aching scars.
He trudges forth, beneath the weight of night,
With heart still yearning for the warm daylight.

May the days of anguish find their gentle end,
When love, like sunlight, through the shadows wends.
A father's soul, though crushed beneath the stone,
Holds tight the hope that he will not be alone.
