TO THE WALL - A TRIBUTE
with the cup and team*, The Wall is back home
to boys and staff, his credits are handsome
in triumph, his humility astounds
for the boys , limelight ; himself, the background
no praise enough, for one , of his stature
to motivate these boys - a great gesture
to take charge , lesser men would have refused
when Dravid agreed , were perhaps amused
the boys learnt many skills of cricket
some , to senior team , might get ticket
as a cricket's gentleman, to stand tall
hope they also learnt , from The Wall
now, game is much about taking bribe
where love of lucre is most urgent
Dravid is of a fast depleting tribe
for whom - ethics first - is most important
This gentle cricketer deserves high praise
for giving bar of ethics , a high raise
