Dee, this is officially one of my favorite 'words of wisdom' ever... In the midst of tough times, it's often beyond our reach, that calm. We need someone to remind us. Mind over matter - it works. So, if it's all right, I'm copying this to post on my mirror. And here's love to a wonderful soul: YOU! Esther : ]

I like this poem because it shows that whatever life throws at us, we have to deal with it and carry on. There is great strength in creating an illusion of calm, so much so that it becomes no longer an illusion, as the calmness will exist for real (if you get my philosophical drift :))

Could there be anyone who DOESN'T need to hear this? Well I know I do... quite apart from the sheer pleasure of reading such a flowing piece... so thank you. t x

Words of wisdom abound in this fine poem. I call it 'the magic if' a word coined by Stanislavski, the famous Russian actor and director. He used to say if you were playing a part which you found difficult, use your magic if. 'If' I was in this situation, 'what would I do'? If I was calm and controlled and at peace, what would it feel like? I've used it so many times in my life - and not always on the stage either. Thanks for penning this. love, Allie xxxxxxxxxxx

Can't argue with this advice. Others who are under pressure need to see it in the eyes of those who would help them - esp in your line of work - and it's a very fine thing to nourish the strength that actually allows to you feel it as well as look it. Solid writing from start to finish, and sound advice Dee. A very fine poem. xx jim

The calmest people or at least those who 'look' the calmest are the dead. I remember my Grandfather was cutting his lawn and fell over. When they picked him up he actually looked happy.

How true this piece of advice is, Dee. By creating an aura of calm, those around you will feel more secure and safe, and this feeds back to you. I hope the intended recipient takes heed........ Well written, wording superb. Love, Fran xxx

and how close the 'illusion of calm' is, to the reality of calm! Such is the power of the mind. Fine poem.
