Crazy Humankind Poem by Victoria Gauci

Crazy Humankind

We are beings of this Earth,
We are energy and light,
Wisdom and our honesty,
Standing up for what is right,

Chemistry and backbone,
Strong minds and full hearts,
Attention to the world we live,
Of which we are all a part.

Grains of truth run like sand
In muddy river beds,
Just as the truth be told to us,
We sift it in our heads.

Human beings one and all,
In a crazy humankind,
Fighting War and Terrorism,
As we peek out from our blinds.

I go to sleep and wonder what,
The world will be like tomorrow,
Will the children be safe in their lives?
Or will their lives be filled with sorrow?
