What would their relatives think? It's completely unnatural For a baby to walk especially since he/she just got out of the oven less than 6 months ago There was no crawlspace great write great 10++++++++++++++++++++++++
heehee. i liked this one, it kind of reminded me of my cousin Hannah who was put on all fours by her mom when she was walking before crawling! .... how crazy!
heh, I like this one. I walked before I crawled. And now that I am older, I prefer to crawl around the house rather than walk like a 'Big girl' should. Oh well, I guess I'm backwards. We spend our childhood trying to get out of diapers, only to grow up and get back in them...
a good poem as it is one which could become a debate, good start of a conversation and it has good meaning and makes great sense i like it...its one to think about.
I think the symbolic representation of being different (by walking before even crawling) is the main idea of this poem not the issue that is it possible to walk before crawlor not? This poem I think not only deal with children but it is representing people (those different people) of all ages, having ambitions not acceptable for other. It reminds me a true story of a carpentor who in his old age decided to get educated and while everyone was making fun of him without know his ambitions, finding his action abnormal, demanding him to stop doing stupid thing he refused to give up and become a scholar of his time. I think idea is don't give up and don't afraid to be a different. :) That's what come in my mind when I read this.
Why should one conform to what a twisted world says is acceptable? It is the babies who walk before they crawl that make life exceptional! ! These are the great people who move forward in life, leaders never followers who look at the used, old path before them and decide to create their own! !
Another free verse poem put to paper. This time the topic was closer to home and I could connect. As you stated you wish to publish this I feel I need to be more honest than just saying it was nice or good, etc. etc. Although I could connect it felt like there was something missing here. All in all not a bad piece just not complete. Rosemary
This is a beautiful piece with a symbolic import. Very original. Susie.
Conversational-style writing; I could get used to it. Very thought-provoking.
i walked before i crawled! that was only because i was simply too plump to go down on all fours wothout suffocating myself. but now i'm happy to say i've slimmed down to a healthy 100 pound 5' 5'. very cool poem. love the unusual subject.
Your best Tonelius-if i do say so myself.... Your developtment though poetry is secure and fluid..... and this poem in particular scratches deeper than others may think-i shall be returning to it several times sebxx
'Does the chicken come before the egg? ' Who is to say step 2 follows step 1? Our beliefs are at times restricted to the exploration of all possibilities. 'Crawl' is such a demanding 'ritual' of sorts! On the one hand, it stunts a natural process accepted by the 'doer' and on the other hand it embraces an embarassment of having a 'freak' be way ahead of a concept that is assigned to 'normalcy'! I like this poem. L
This is a poem about an every day occurence which is never really recognised or even thought about at all. It's just took for granted. A good poem. God bless and best regards-Mike Gale.
Very nice idea - true that many parents are really afraid to see their babies walk before crawl since, i suppose, when they were babies they crawl before walk
I was one who walked and never crawled. The smart ones do this. Good observation-nicely written. Violet
Some babies are advanced, and don't follow the rule of thumb. They are on their way to somewhere else, I suppose. It is important that babies crawl for their sense of balance and development. But as far as long term problems if they don't crawl? Don't have any statisticts on that. Interesting poem - somewhat loose in structure, but then who said you had to follow the book? Linda
