I have an astronomy book called THE VIOLENT UNIVERSE, your poem is a case study of that violence. You present the largest possible perspective of the world that a poem can encompass. It's appropriate that Earth was ACCOMPANIED BY MARS since the next lines concern cruelty and interplanetary war. You leave it to the reader to draw the conclusion, namely, extinction. This fulfills one of the goals of science fiction - to explore the fate of humanity as a whole, and not just individual fates. But what an unthinkable future!
