Crackles Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Crackles

I found solace in the way you crackle
You flicker without hesitation,
you've taken my breath & replaced
it with smoke.
I've swallowed the promise of a prayer
Whose wings have melted
in mid-flight.
We are but flesh.
Your wounds are now
Mine
