Covid Has Made Us Uncultured - A Sonnet

COVID HAS MADE US UNCULTURED

learnt in school: 'we are social animals'
jostling in packed buses was super fun
now between two men there is a thick wall
thanks to Covid, air smells of suspicion

in life's bottom line there is a huge breach
SOP is a list of don'ts that daunt
never shake hands, keep yourself beyond reach;
hug a friendly man, face unwanted taunts

kith and kin are scared of the Covid dead
those who spent a lifetime bringing them up;
should final journey be Government led?
to what level has humanity stooped?

Covid took our culture to rock bottom
to each one to himself, now we tomtom
--sonnet
Aristotle(385BC-323BC) the legendary Greek philosopher said, 'Man is by nature a social animal; ......... Society..precedes the individual'
