Covid - 19 (Written For An Inspiring Health Worker) Poem by Wei Chao

Covid - 19 (Written For An Inspiring Health Worker)

Rating: 5.0

I've seen stormy days,
With overcast skies,
Dark gloomy clouds,
Gusty winds too,
I felt miserable,
When could they be over?

I've seen crises 'n' chaos,
Bear Stearns collapse,
AIG, Lehman Brothers,
Vancouver riots,
Violence and fears,
When could they be over?

I was in east Asia,
When SARS out broke,
There were public fears.
But COVID - 19 is way worse,
Large number of global deaths,
When could it be over?

I saw empty streets,
Closed down shops too,
While empty light rails,
Still running on tracks,
I was just wondering,
When could they be over?

We're health care workers,
We abide to protocols,
Wear PPE, sanitize hands,
Take vaccine jabs,
We are optimistic,
Soon, COVID - 19 will be over.

Like rainbows after the rains,
They lift our spirits,
Like those crises and chaos,
They were just past events,
Bad times are not forever,
Yes, COVID - 19 will be over.
