Country Music Parody Poem by DM W

Country Music Parody

I am just a world weary wanderer.
And now I'm searching for sanctuary.
When I think of all the time I've squandered,
O it makes me want to lie down and weep!
I've drowned my sorrows with whiskey and wine.
I've gambled away all my good fortune;
Oblivious to all the danger signs.
And now I'm feeling so alone and blue.
I've dwelt within a world of distractions.
I couldn't see the light for the darkness.
I ignored fruitful realms of creation.
I refused the verdant paths; that were blessed.
