Corophobia
(The shutdown)
Like gate of heaven shut against the people,
All of us living this earth of a hell.
Everything is like Chinese alphabet to me,
Our brothers who are bigger than our country,
Those dwellers of green lands.
Who with their airwalk thinks they are beyond the earth,
Are shutdown in their dirty gold homes.
They no longer creep out nor breeze out.
No Airwalk, no landwalk, that is "the shutdown"
And we are bumping breeze into our belly,
All because of the term "corophobia".
I felt goosebumps many times,
While waiting for chinco to release camry or G-wagon.
Our toilets should be as clean as our beds,
Let our agbada and red cap wearers lay at home,
And let them practice ghost walk,
Because they are not the owners of yonder,
Yonder where image of heaven dwells in their minds,
And to forfeit their paradise for mere glitters.
Now why are you all here at home?
All our long legs has been cut short,
And we just realized we just have a home.
"The shutdown" We want back that our country,
Where people work walk suffering and smiling.
Where is that our Lagos?
Where people don't sleep but work for nothing good.
Now, like the world is quaking to fall down.
"Coropho" have you not done enough?
It's high time you stop, stop this cold battle,
So that we will see the sun rising with smile again.
