I had spend considerable time addressing every single one of Bri Edwards comments. And they appear to be nowhere in sight. Can Poem Hunter please help! Thank You!

(cont. from a previous interrupted comment) : now I lost what I'd typed for continuing. My point was to be that one accused of 'racism' would be of a different 'race' than the person harmed.

With all due respect, Bri, I am well versed in the meanings of 'racism' and 'race'. I have fought against racism all of my life!

Would a white officer be called a 'racist' if she killed a white person who seemed to be pointing a gun at her?

I won't dignify that question with a reply.

and furthermore......probably police officer aka 'cops' are only called 'racists' when they shoot or otherwise injure, mentally or physically, a person of another 'race'. So a 'black cop'

I've qualified that with the word 'some'.

I SAY: ' THE POEM 'needs' a couple of 'SOME OF THEM ARE' to REPLACE THE two 'They're'. Does anyone agree? ? bri ;)

That would take away from the 'provokingness'! So, I don't agree with you on this one, Bri.

I give four stars, not for entertainment or humor/humour, or rhyming, BUT for the thought-provokinngness (ha ha) , AND brevity of the poem. bri ;)

A very intriguing and thought provoking poem on a sensitive topic: law and order. A very keen observation, Richard. Happy, happy New Year!

I see that my poem has stirred a little controversy. Just as I had intended! As always, THX so much for your comments, my poetess friend. Rose Marie, May You Have A New Year Full of Very Positive Observations! All The Best!

The officers you are referring to as ‘racist' and ‘dead ducks' are the same ones you call when you feel threatened. I agree with the previous comment by Kim Barney.

Jim, the key word in both my stanzas is 'some'. I have nothing but respect for the officers who are serving and protecting the public! Thank you for reading and commenting.

Most cops are good, as are most people in general. There are a few bad apples in every barrel or profession.
