Continental Empress Poem by Wilfred Mellers

Continental Empress

Continental Empress
Written by: Wilfred Mellers, November 25,2016

The colors within you are a true expression of beauty,
For the woman in you, I am completely captivated.
Bronze Queen and everything in between,
Golden Goddess shining on the cover of Jet magazine.

Your essence brings life to existence.
Mother of all things through persistence.
Black is my empress; she is beautiful,
Her laughter resonates like a wonderful melody.
Her hips sway gracefully in the breeze,
Her lips are firm and taste remarkably sweet.

A phenomenal woman, the embodiment of dreams,
Her wonder is delightful and so easy to love.
Her strength shines through her perseverance;
She is highly desirable in her appearance.
She is dark and lovely, sweet and captivating,
I can't resist the urge to misbehave around her.

She is the light that lifts me from darkness,
The source of all my happiness.
She chases away every hint of sadness,
She knows me at my best and my worst.
In all things, I now feel truly blessed,
I want to rest my head on her pillow.

I will love her until the end of time;
She is more than just a fanciful pastime.
In her presence, I find no more hills to climb;
For her, the bells of love always chime.

In me, she can trust;
She makes every day feel like Christmas.
Every night is like New Year's Eve,
To her, I promise that I will never leave.

If she were to leave, nothing would matter.
The sun wouldn't shine, and the sky would shatter;
The very clouds would weep for her absence,
Without her, I would lose my will to exist.

The Cheshire Cat would no longer grin,
A world without her is not a place I want to be in.
She is the sheen of candlelight,
Bringing merriment and joy to my delight.
Wherever she is, I want to be,
For she brings out the king in me.

Her complexion is beautiful; dark is divine.
Bronze-brown skin is true perfection.
Tempered by the sun's sweet light,
In comparison, there is simply none.

Blighted fruit lies under false light, deprived of inspiration;
They could never be or challenge your perfection.
They hate you because they cannot match your grace,
They imitate, but they are far too late.
You are my powerful morning star,
I truly love just the way you are.

Others cannot outshine you;
You are champagne, while they are merely sparkling wine.
To worship her is my solemn duty;
The variances in hue are the source of all beauty.
In shades that are bold, spectacular, and unique,
My love for her is immeasurable and speaks.
