Contest Rules

1. Some contests have cash prizes, and some do not. For those that have cash prizes, the cash is only available to residents of the United States of America. All others can only win GLORY.
The reason for this is that all winners will receive a cashier's check from my credit union, and the credit union will only mail checks to addresses in the U. S. A.

(In the past, some contest winners were given a spot in my poem POETRY HEAVEN, but the poem is getting too big and I don't plan to add any more stanzas to it.)

2. To be eligible to win either money or glory, contestants must be active members of Poem Hunter. That means that you must have submitted at least twelve poems to Poem Hunter within the past year, and at least one within the last 30 days.

3. Winners of previous cash prizes can still win again, provided that their total winnings do not exceed $150.00. After they have reached that total, they can still be winners, but only win GLORY.

4. If you know the answer, leave a message on the contest poem, unless the instructions for that contest say to do something else. This way, if two people know the answer, the one whose message registers the earlier time will be the winner.

5. If you use a pseudonym, you will need to tell me your real name and mailing address if you win money. The credit union will not issue a check to Pink Princess, Aunty Septic, or Deacon Gestant, etc.

6. The contest will usually be introduced with a poem called LUCKY YOU, but if more than one contest is going on at the same time, the second one MAY have the title in a foreign language.

7. Sometimes a contest will be hidden (it will not be actually introduced as a contest) . I have had several of those in the past. Some people still solved them and won cash prizes.
