Contemplating Suicide Poem by Nancy Trembley

Contemplating Suicide

Oh God free me from this wretched prison.
My soul, bound to this body.
Chained to this earth.
Yet, honestly, who chains me but me.
Yes, and why?
Because… otherwise I'm afraid of what I may see
On the other side.
