Consumed By The Rush Poem by Sven Rhoads

Heaving like a wave as it crashes into me
Sharp is the edge gradually becoming dull
Slicing through me like the wind in her hair
Until everything that was just melts away
Behind these eyes you will never see
The bitterness that only come to swell
Lightspeed emotions lead me to not care
As the pain arrives nothing else can stay

Emptying out all the constant longing
Draining me of all those sleepless nights
The war in my head and the constant bombing
Of those memories that keep up the fight

Until the pain releases me now
Consumed by the rush

There are no words that can ease my mind
I have known for too long that love is a lie
So I pound on my fists until the knuckles bleed
Just to get the toxic blood out of me
They claim to understand but oh, how they're blind
Think they figured it out by the naked eye
A change of the ways is what I will need
To feel alive again just so that I can be

Pouring out the knowledge of sorrow
Spilling the last drops of the poison cure
I just want a chance to see the real tomorrow
Instead of being bound dead on the floor

So I lash myself into brutal relief
