Connection Poem by Bernadeth Tolentino

Connection

Rating: 5.0

“The most feared animal, ” they say.
Its gaze so powerful, its stare so strong
misunderstood and mistreated
What has it ever done wrong?

In those yellow eyes the world stopped.
Everything faded then vanished.
Under six moons we now stood
And a milky white sky surrounded us.

Alexander, and Jaguar
Three times, our names, it repeated.
From its cage, I wished to free.
But between us hit a silver bullet.
