Confidence Is Low Poem by Etienne Charilaou

Confidence Is Low

So many strange and unusual people -
minds deranged.
Ay- me! I am bewildered and vexed.
Were it not for my mind-diamond
their really feeble glass to shatter
in their terrible morass I'd sink!
Oh, humanity - who can save you?
Two thousand years you've had,
some progress you've made - not bad!
Do you hear a ‘But! '
If the best can't escape their rut
how shall it be for the weak majority?
