Complete control is what you most desire.
For mystery is no longer a friend.
You once marvelled at the sea's constant ebb and flow,
And the subtle changing of the seasons.
But now they mean nothing to you at all.
Or so you say, as your repeat the mantras
Of the cold, grey systems that you once despised.
Remember the times you basked in the glow
Of moonlight, as you poured out the secrets
Of your heart. That now seems such a long time
Ago. You've traded in your poetic
Visions for starker, prosaic solutions
Indeed, you have discarded all your dreams.
