Compare Me To Death Poem by Clyde UrMom

Compare Me To Death

In a realm of sorrow, a tale unfolds,
Of a boy obscured, a heartache untold.
Yearning to escape the shadows cast,
By comparisons that shatter his soul so vast.

Within a home where love should thrive,
A father's gaze fails to revive,
A spark of warmth, a tender touch,
Leaving the boy yearning for such.

Four sentences exchanged, so brief,
A coldness lingers, a chasm, a grief.
A conversation distant, sparse,
A connection lost, a heart's remorse.

When at last they speak, eyes averted,
A pain deep-rooted, love diverted.
The boy seeks solace in the night,
Bearing a burden, too heavy, too tight.

His brothers, towers of strength and might,
Blind to the boy, deaf to his plight.
They scorn and dismiss, souls estranged,
Leaving him wounded, heart pained.

Struggling to breathe in this cruel facade,
He finds no haven, no saving squade.
The weight unbearable, he can't endure,
His spirit shattered, a dream demure.

In the darkest hour, he makes his choice,
Seeking an end to the stifled voice.
He leaves a note, with words so few,
A plea for love, a heart now askew.

But even in death, they still can't see,
The unique soul he used to be.
They label him merely a copy, a sham,
A failed version of what they glam.

His absence haunts their waking days,
A void of sorrow, a mist that stays.
Yet blinded still by their own pride,
They fail to see the pain he tried to hide.

Regrets now echo through the halls,
As memories of his laughter calls.
A boy who longed to be embraced,
Now gone forever, without a trace.

In memories now, he'll forever reside,
A broken soul that could not confide.
Let us remember, and strive to find,
The worth in every soul entwined.
